News: MAYBE HIP LAUNCHES NEW INTERNET TELEVISION NETWORK AT WWW.MAYBEHIP.COM
DECEMBER 3RD, 2009 FROM MAYBEHIP.COM
Chicago, IL – December 3, 2009 – New Internet Television Network, Maybe Hip, launched its website today and has premiered the first episodes of its five pop culture-focused shows. As internet video continues to climb as one of the most preferred mediums for news and entertainment, Maybe Hip is reaching audiences in a new way: through an interactive entertainment platform, positioned around conversational-based video content. Maybe Hip is founded by Patrick Lothian, Lexi Scherr, and Rob Silver.
“With the launch of Maybe Hip Internet Television, we’re excited to provide a new, unique outlet for news and entertainment for the growing Internet Generation. Maybe Hip’s shows will engage viewers through lighthearted and opinionated conversations amongst hosts who are passionate about pop culture,” said Rob Silver, Co-Founder of Maybe Hip.
Along with its conversational format, Maybe Hip is opening up the discussion to viewers by creating an open community where fans can express their opinions on the shows and topics discussed, allowing Maybe Hip to tailor its shows based on the feedback received. Viewers are encouraged to communicate through the site’s forums, blogs, email, and through social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and TheSixtyOne.com.
Patrick Lothian, Co-Founder of Maybe Hip, is particularly excited about the network’s show, “Your News”, and its approach of blending news information, lighthearted conversation, and user-submitted content together into an interesting and entertaining program. “Your News” will report on user submitted news topics and stories to present the news that viewers of the show are most interested in, all while allowing informal banter and opinions to be shared by the show’s hosts.
Maybe Hip’s shows will initially be available at MaybeHip.com, Blip.TV, and compatible to be streamed on Apple’s iPhones. Other distribution channels for the network’s shows are expected in the future.
About Maybe Hip
As internet video continues to climb as one of the most preferred mediums for news and entertainment, Maybe Hip is reaching audiences in a new way: through an interactive entertainment platform, positioned around conversational-based video content.
The company, founded in 2009, targets a demographic similar to those of the founders: fans who are looking for new shows that reflect the culture that encompasses their daily life… fans who are looking for new video entertainment beyond the typical sitcoms, reality shows, and news programs that dominate programming on cable television… fans who are looking beyond the presentation of facts of a given topic, but rather enjoy the friendly opinionated banter that reflects the interaction they experience in their own groups of friends… fans who comfortably use the internet and their mobile devices on a daily basis to retrieve the information that is important to them… and fans who are looking for insightful and light-hearted discussion on the issues that matter to them.
