For OR Against: “Paisley Loofahs”
Hey everybody out there in internet TV land!
I haven’t written a blog post in a while, so I thought I would give my two cents in a commentary on the 4th episode of “For Or Against” – A Man’s Tool.
First thing’s first: The “laser sound” in rap songs. There are a few different types of laser sounds, but I’m kind of unsure about what they mean here. I have a distinct idea in my mind, but in trying to find songs that actually match that: it is virtually impossible. I couldn’t find any songs online with that distinctive “laser-totin’-cowboy” sound in the intro. It’s actually to the point of kind of pissing me off. Artists I know that are guilty of this are Lil Wayne and Flo Rida, but I can’t find them.
Next, I have a sneaking suspicion that Mike Mac and T-Box don’t know what the word “paisley” means. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing, in that they are two dudes. So this section of the blog is for them, and anyone else out there who is confused. I myself have never seen a paisley loofah. Now, I’m not doubting one exists, but….
Actually, I take that back. I very much doubt that the paisley loofah is in existence.
There are only 2 meanings to the word “paisley” that I am aware of:
1. “a pattern of small curving shapes with intricate detailing, usually printed in bright colours” -definition from thefreedictionary.com. I’d think they would find it pretty difficult to put this pattern onto a loofah, right?
2. Brad Paisley – a country music sensation. I don’t think this is what they meant. Although I wouldn’t mind being lathered in the shower by him.
I can only assume that the word the boys were searching for was in fact “pastel.”
Lastly, what were the different accents that T-Box used during that episode? I felt as though he was British at one moment, then Irish (a la Paul Rudd in “I Love you Man”), and at one moment he just talked like a snooty rich guy (Robin Leech or George Plimpton).
All I have to say about it is this: VINTAGE SHIRTS + HALF-BAKED ENGLISH ACCENT = VINTAGE “SHITS”. I am way against fake vintage shirts, but fake vintage shits? Now how could anybody not be into that?
Watch the episode here, And for more hilarity, check out For OR Against Wednesdays at MaybeHip.com. Go to twitter and tell us what you are For OR Against by writing a topic such as “vintage shits”, “Brad Paisley” or “T-Box’s accents” followed by #ForORAgainst.
