Chicago Music: Facing Winter

From the guys of Facing Winter,

Relaxing with high-quality beers and friendly folks … this is how all interviews should be done! It’s just a great idea. We had good times chattin’ with Pat and Lexi. They have a kind of welcoming, familiar quality. It made for a quick comfort factor and lots of laughs, on and off camera.

This episode comes as we’re about to finish recording “Gifts from Gravity”, our second full-length album. It will be available mid-2010 on iTunes and a bunch of other sites. The first song on the album will be “Travelin”, which is featured in this Chicago Rocks! episode. Our next big Chicago show is at the Double Door on April 21st. That’ll be a Wednesday night affair with two other bands: Chicago’s own MacGuffin, and fantastic Michigan indie band Valentiger.

Something sooner: On Saturday, March 20th, we’re performing in West Chicago (about 30 miles west of downtown) at the Oasis Cafe & Hookah Bar, with Undereasy.

Chances are you’ll be hearing from us again soon … we’ll be doing shows and tours of various odd lengths throughout the rest of the year in support of “Gifts from Gravity”. Our band van will soon be reinforced and ready to travel long distances. Californiathis summer? Perhaps. All around the Midwest? Definitely. See you on the road!
